Remember When Businesses Knew Their Customers?

There was a time when dealing with a local business felt a little different.

You could walk through the door and the person behind the counter knew your name. You could pick up the phone without navigating your way through a call centre. And when you needed some help, you didn’t have to explain who you were and start the whole story again from the beginning.

At Storage Choice, we don’t think that kind of service should have disappeared.

In fact, we think it matters more than ever.

You’re More Than a Shed Number

When you rent a storage shed, hopefully everything goes exactly to plan.

You move in, store what you need to store and get on with life.

But storage is often connected to other things happening in your world. You might be moving house, renovating, downsizing, travelling, growing a business or simply trying to create some extra room.

And plans have a habit of changing.

Maybe you need your shed for longer than expected. Perhaps you suddenly need more space — or realise you could manage with less. You might need some advice, have a delivery coming in or simply have a question about the facility.

When that happens, it’s nice to be able to talk to someone who already understands.

That’s one of the things we think makes Storage Choice different.

Real People at Your Local Facility

Our experienced onsite managers don’t just know self storage.

They know their facility.

They’re there day after day, helping people move in, answering questions, finding the right storage solutions and getting to know the customers who use the facility.

For many of our regular customers, that means the person they speak to today is the same person they’ve dealt with before.

They know your name. They know your shed. And often, they already understand why you’re storing with us and what you might need.

That continuity can make a surprisingly big difference.

You’re not explaining your situation to someone hundreds of kilometres away who has never seen the facility.

You’re talking to someone who is actually there.

Sometimes It’s the Little Things

Great customer service doesn’t always mean doing something extraordinary.

Often, it’s much simpler than that.

It’s answering the phone.

Remembering a customer.

Taking the time to listen.

Helping someone work out what they actually need rather than simply selling them more space.

Or being there when something doesn’t quite go according to plan.

These might sound like little things, but when you’re moving house, juggling a renovation or trying to run a business, the little things can matter.

And that’s why having experienced people onsite has always been such an important part of the way we do things at Storage Choice.

Maybe It’s a Little Old-Fashioned

Technology has certainly made storage more convenient.

You can research your options online, explore different shed sizes and, at participating Storage Choice facilities, even organise your storage online if that’s how you’d prefer to do it.

And that’s exactly how it should be.

But choosing convenience shouldn’t mean giving up personal service.

Sometimes you want to do everything online.

And sometimes you simply want to pick up the phone or walk through the door and talk to someone who knows what they’re doing — and ideally, knows who you are.

Maybe that approach is a little old-fashioned.

We’re pretty comfortable with that.

Because at Storage Choice, you’re more than a shed number.
