Why is wine bottle storage important?

Queensland’s warm and humid climate can make proper wine storage a challenge for collectors, investors and enthusiasts alike.

Wine develops through a delicate ageing process that can be heavily affected by temperature fluctuations and changing humidity levels, which is why poorly stored bottles are far more common in Brisbane than in cooler southern climates.

With the right cellaring conditions, good wines can continue to mature and improve over time — ideally stored at a consistent 15 degrees Celsius and around 70% humidity.

How do your climate controlled cellars work?

Our purpose-built wine storage cellars are designed to maintain ideal conditions year-round, with temperatures carefully controlled between 14–16 degrees Celsius and humidity levels kept at around 70%.

For added peace of mind, our climate-controlled systems are supported by dual motors, ensuring stable conditions are maintained even in the unlikely event of a system fault.

Temperature levels are also electronically monitored 24 hours a day to help ensure your wine collection remains stored in optimal conditions at all times.

Wine bottle storage suggestions for best results

  • Ensure wine is stored at a consistent temperature that is controlled and monitored.
  • Avoid consistent, direct light as it causes wine to prematurely age and will affect the flavour significantly.
  • Store sideways to ensure the wine is in contact with the cork, preventing it from spoiling and drying out.
  • Keep movement and vibration to a minimum to ensure the wine is not agitated and the sediment can settle.
